Real Estate Partner Hiring Continues to Gather Pace

A recent Law.com International article by Oscar Glyn reports on Gibson Dunn’s hire of Chris Slack, a real estate and investment funds partner from Jones Day, as the firm continues to build out its London real estate practice. Slack becomes Gibson Dunn's fourth real estate partner hire in London since the start of 2025.

The piece draws on the recent Macrae+ London: Partner Lateral Market Report showing that construction, real estate and projects hiring was up in Q1 of this year - marking the third consecutive year of growth in the sector. It now accounts for 9% of all lateral hiring moves across the AmLaw 100 and the UK top 50, placing it behind only corporate, finance, and litigation in volume.

The hire reflects a broader strategic push by Gibson Dunn to expand its real estate capability in London, with the firm targeting 500 lawyers in its London office.
