Law360: Democrats’ Midterm Sweep Likely To Spur Work For DC Firms

Law360’s Alison Knezevich reports that the change in congressional control is expected to generate a wave of legal work for firms in Washington, DC, with congressional oversight among the practices set to see stronger demand.

Macrae’s Justine Donahue shared her perspective on how that activity could play out across the law firm market. A rise in congressional investigations, she noted, could create additional work for firms, as scrutiny of major industries is likely to trigger related litigation.

The article also looks at how DC firms have spent recent months preparing, including prominent hires and new practice launches, and at other areas expected to stay busy, such as state attorney general work, technology and antitrust.
