Antitrust partner movement across the four markets reached 72 moves in 2025, up from 63 in 2024, with 56 already recorded in 2026 YTD. Washington, DC remains the largest market by volume: its 26 moves in 2026 YTD already match its 2025 total, with hiring skewing toward the AmLaw 25 and government-to-firm moves continuing to feature.

Elsewhere, the picture is one of competition for scarce talent. In Brussels, AmLaw 25 firms are acquiring teams while a wave of senior partner retirements reshapes the market. London demand centers on UK competition litigation, where the talent pool is small. In New York, firm-to-firm moves dominate, with demand expected to endure, particularly for transactional partners, as long as merger activity continues.
