Law360: Legal Sector Jobs Spike With Work "Churning Right Along"

A recent Law360 article by Aebra Coe examines the latest US Bureau of Labor Statistics data showing the legal sector added 5,100 jobs in June — the largest monthly increase the industry has seen in more than two years, and the third straight month of growth. Legal employment now stands at roughly 23,000 more people than a year earlier.

The piece explores what's driving that momentum, noting that litigation and commercial disputes continue to keep teams busy across the board, from support staff through to BigLaw partners.

Justine Donahue, Partner at Macrae, comments in the piece on the forces behind the current pace of hiring:

"Things that are the legal industry's bread and butter are churning right along right now, like litigation and commercial disputes. Massive, complex litigation keeps support services all the way up to BigLaw partners busy, and that whole mechanism is very active. The economy overall is up and down, but deals are flowing, Wall Street is moving and capital markets are moving."
